Meet the ATMIS ECOgown: A biodegradable, breathable, single-use SMS medical isolation gown made with plant-based material to help your organization reduce its carbon footprint without compromising your front-line workers’ comfort or safety.

It’s the latest innovation from ATMIS, an Indigenous-owned, Canadian manufacturer that set out to make a gown that breaks down in 5-10 years instead of 200-plus. ATMIS’ products ship from our MDEL plant in Chatham, Ontario and all are made to ISO 9001standards in one of the most technologically advanced manufacturing systems in the world.

The SMS material used in the ATMIS Level 2 ECOgown includes plant-based resins and relies on a proprietary manufacturing process to achieve landfill-biodegradable status (based on ASTM-D5511 standards). The material also breaks down in marine environments (as per ASTM-D6691), all without leaving microplastics behind.

ATMIS sources all its raw material from trusted North American suppliers and all of our gowns feature unique three-bar, ultrasonically welded seams which run up the sides and sleeves with neck and waist ties running continuous from the body.

The ECOgown’s performance parameters have been verified by independent laboratories and meet or exceed ANSI/AAMI-PB70 standards, AATCC 127 and AATCC 42 specifications, and the 16 CFR 1610 flammability test.

Available in blue, yellow or white, the ECOgown can be ordered with thumb slits, thumb loops or elastic cuffs in industry-standard sizing, ranging from small to extra-large.
